Last month, the LatAm team had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with our vibrant community of founders, investors, mentors and allies at our very first 500 LatAm Founder Summit in Valle de Bravo, Mexico.

Over a period of three days, more than 160 attendees showed us how amazing and powerful the 500 LatAm family is. We had a full program of activities for founders, which included sessions on fundraising, scaling, leadership, and even work-life balance. It was a great opportunity for our portfolio companies to get together and share experiences.

Our first summit reaffirms our commitment to build more avenues for the Latin American startup ecosystem to network and exchange ideas. It also marked our 10-year anniversary in the region. Since 2011, our LatAm team has invested a total of more than $38 million in 250+ early stage companies in Latin America, including 99 minutos (Batch 3) and Konfio (Batch 4).

Our mission is to help the most talented Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs in Latin America build successful companies that leverage technology to scale through capital and know-how. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our newest batch of companies in the Somos Lucha Program, which represents a 0.5% acceptance rate. The startups hail from Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina and Peru.

Along with our investment comes a commitment from our team to support each founder in multiple areas, including legal, product, sales, growth, corporate culture, fundraising, and more. During four months, we tailor mentorship sessions based on the company’s needs. The program culminates on January 26, 2023 with Somos Lucha’s Demo Day.

Here are Batch 17 companies:

AlquiláTuCancha (Argentina): Sports Tech platform that promotes group sports practice and creates the ecosystem that connects sportsmen and sports centers.
